"Dream of Two Cities" by Marina Vieira da Silva
The work presented here in this selection is a fusion of tales of two cities: London and Lisbon. It is, in part, a document of a fascinating, difficult and confused time of my life. It is also a private exploration of the world I inhabit and a search to provoke an emotional response to the subject in question.
When I go walking with my toy camera, the act of seeing is a process of emotional intuition rather than an elaborated fusion of specific and complicated techniques, these pictures serve as evidence of the strange and wonderful things I experience.
These pictures are capture with a Russian LOMO LCA camera, double exposing the film, and cross processing after. This method can be extremely unpredictable, and like any other aspect of my work, it adds a part of an individual feeling to it.
